Cole Livery Stable

Short history on Livery Stable located on 2nd Street, Weston WV

Shared from Yesteryears newspaper article dated, 1877.

The other day our reporter was shown through James P. Cole's elegant Livery Stable on 2nd St and says it is really a magnificent and commodious building. Although it is a stable it is kept as bright as a new pin. All honor is due Mr. Cole for his energy and industry.

The stable was replaced in 1938, and a modern gasoline service station took its place. Called the "Sterling Station."

The new station had 5000-6000 people visit and inspect the modern auto service station and received souvenirs. Hayward Hall is the station manager. other employees are: Gail Henry, Lloyd Kennedy, and Kenneth White.
