Mystery Quilt Raffle Ticket

$20.00

You are purchasing a ticket for the Mystery Quilt Raffle.  After we have sold 100 tickets we will not offer anymore, and the drawing will take place after the last ticket is sold.

The quilt date is approximately 1920 -1930.  It is hand done.  It has many different surnames embroidery on it. We do know by the 1920’s census what areas they were living.  Many were from the Salt Lick district of Braxton County.  This would have included Burnsville, Orlando, Bulltown, Gregory, Flatwoods, Falls Mills, Corley and Heaters.  Other areas were Lewis, Gilmer, Nichols, Webster and Upshur County.  After selling some tickets we did find out many are buried in the K & P Cemetery of Burnsville, WV.

Was the quilt done as a fundraiser for a church, school or the Knights of Pythia?  More of the story is listed on the homepage of our website along with spreadsheet of the surnames.
