Beginning of Weston, WV
On Sept 25, 1789, Henry Flesher, who during the Revolutionary War, belonged to a company of Indian Spies, secured the patent to 400 acres of land including that part of what is now Weston. He had lived in the section before receiving the title, however, as the records show that he was attacked by Indians on Sept. 24, 1784.
